Update on Measures Taken to Combat Infringements of Rights Against COVER Corp. and Affiliated Talents

Thank you very much for continuously supporting COVER Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "COVER Corp."), hololive production, and especially our talents. 

An individual (hereinafter referred to as the “perpetrator”), who committed acts of rights infringement, including defamation and slander, against the company and its affiliated talents has been identified and a settlement reached. 

1. Status of Measures Taken Against Infringements 
(1) Incident Outline 
The perpetrator made social media posts on the internet that infringed upon the privacy rights of talents by posting false personal information allegedly belonging to COVER's affiliated talents while claiming it was legitimate. Subsequent to legal action taken by COVER in response, the court recognized that the case put forward constituted an infringement of rights, which resulted in the identification of the perpetrator involved through a disclosure request. 

(2) Settlement Details 
Upon negotiations with the perpetrator, a settlement was reached that included the following: 
・That the perpetrator deletes the posts in question; 
・That the perpetrator provides a letter of apology; 
・That the perpetrator pays for damages incurred; 
・That the perpetrator pledges to never engage in defamatory/slanderous acts that infringe upon the rights of COVER Corp. and its affiliated talents; 
・That the perpetrator is obligated to pay penalties for breach of contract in the event that they infringe upon the aforementioned pledges. Furthermore, as the perpetrator was a minor, their legal guardian has undertaken to pay the damages incurred and to fulfill their duty to supervise the perpetrator going forward. 

2. A Request From COVER Corp. 
Although the disclosure request revealed that the perpetrator was a minor, this does not change the fact that an affiliated talent was emotionally harmed by acts of rights infringement, and COVER will respond appropriately, no differently than in any other case. 
 
When sharing information on the internet, we strongly ask that you once again be aware that the following conduct may constitute infringements of rights. 

<Conduct That May Constitute Infringements of Rights> 
・Insulting or verbally abusing affiliated talents, or spreading baseless information about them 
・Posting personal information or other matters concerning the private lives of affiliated talents 
(You may be held liable regardless of whether the information is true, a mere rumor, or false) 
・Spreading or reposting infringing information posted by others (Reasons such as "I only reposted it" or "I wasn't the one who wrote it first" will not be accepted; those who spread such information will be held liable in the same manner as the source of said information) 

COVER will continue to take legal action against infringing conduct in order to maintain an environment where our affiliated talents can feel safe and are able to focus on their activities.
