Thank you very much for continually supporting COVER Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "COVER Corp."), hololive production, and especially our talents.
COVER Corp. hereby announces that multiple individuals (hereinafter referred to as the “perpetrators”), who committed acts of rights infringement including defamation and slander, against COVER Corp. and its affiliated talents have been identified and settlements reached.
Defamation directed at an affiliated talent
Perpetrators posted content on social media that seriously infringed upon the personal rights of an affiliated talent.
In response, COVER Corp. determined that these posts constituted an infringement of the affiliated talent’s reputation and dignity and filed a request accordingly for the disclosure of sender information. The court subsequently recognized that this came under an infringement of rights, which resulted in the identification of the individuals involved.
Forgery of an affiliated talent’s signature
Perpetrators forged the signature of an affiliated talent and sold counterfeit items via flea market and internet auction websites.
In response, COVER Corp. determined that these actions constituted infringements of the company’s copyrights/trademark rights and filed a request accordingly for the disclosure of sender information. The court subsequently recognized that this came under an infringement of rights, which resulted in the identification of the individuals involved.
After they were identified, COVER Corp. engaged in negotiations with the perpetrators with whom settlement agreements were reached in accordance with the terms proposed by the company.
Perpetrators agreed to the following:
- To sincerely reflect upon their infringing conduct and formally apologize
- To pay monetary compensation as damages
- To refrain from engaging in any similar infringing conduct in the future, including defamatory conduct directed at COVER Corp. or its affiliated talents
- To pay a contractual penalty in the event of any breach of the settlement agreement
COVER Corp. will continue to take firm action against defamatory conduct directed at the company and/or its affiliated talents, as well as against other acts that infringe upon the company’s rights, including the unauthorized sale of counterfeit items related to hololive production or its affiliated talents. In such cases, COVER Corp. will pursue civil and criminal liability as appropriate.
The company plans to publicly disclose an update on its response to rights infringement cases in around March 2026.
COVER Corp. will continue to address defamation and other rights infringements to ensure that all talents affiliated with hololive production and fans alike can engage in activities and enjoy content respectively in a safe and secure environment.
