COVER Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Motoaki Tanigo) announced that “hololive English 1st Concert -Connect the World-“ received Runner-Up Award in the Project Category for CJPF (Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform) Awards 2024 (hosted by Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters, Cabinet Office of Japan).
The "CJPF Awards 2024" is an initiative organized by the "Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform" (Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters, Cabinet Office of Japan). It aims to select and commend initiatives deemed suitable for the "Cool Japan Strategy" from a wide range of videos and projects that promote Japan's attractiveness overseas, and helps facilitate inbound expansion, with selections made by a judging committee.
hololive production’s first-ever full-scale live event "hololive English 1st Concert -Connect the World-" by hololive English has been recognized as a project that conveys the charm and appeal of Japanese culture to overseas audiences, receiving the Runner-Up Award in the Project Category.
hololive English debuted in September 2020 as hololive production's first VTuber group targeting the English-speaking audience. The group includes popular members like Gawr Gura, who holds the world's highest number of YouTube channel subscribers* among VTubers, and Mori Calliope, who made her major debut under Universal Music. In July 2023, the third unit of the hololive English group, "hololive English -Advent-", made its debut, bringing the total to 15 members. Members of hololive English continue to engage in activities for English-speaking audiences.
In 2023, in addition to collaborating and partnering with international companies, hololive production participated in 26 overseas events (from April 2023 to December 2023). Furthermore, we held our first-ever live event “hololive English 1st Concert -Connect the World-“ in North America, which was a significant milestone for the group. In August 2023, Gawr Gura was honored at the Streamy Awards, the largest content-creator focused award show in North America, as the VTuber of the Year. These activities have helped expand our global recognition, particularly in English-speaking regions. COVER Corporation and hololive production will continue and promote such endeavors.
